XIAMEN MEDICAL UNIVERSITY
Xiamen University was founded in 1921 by Tan Kah Kee, the well-known patriotic overseas Chinese leader. It was the first university in China founded by an overseas Chinese. SUN YAT SEN UNIVERSITY
The former Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences (SUMS) (中山医科大学) was located in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. It is government run university which originated from Boji Medical College (博济医学院), which was established in 1886 in part as a result of the Canton Hospital. The Kung Yee Medical School and Hospital was merged into it in 1925. Dr. Sun Yat-sen once studied and worked in Boji.
This university is a national key medical university. In 2001, the university merged with Sun Yat-sen University and became the Sun Yat-sen College of Medical Science.
Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), originally known as Guangdong University, was founded in 1924 by Dr.Sun Yat-sen, a great democratic revolutionary leader of the 20th century. Comprising 4 campuses of 1525 acres, SYSU is located in Guangzhou of Guangdong province, neighboring Hong Kong and Macao.

XIAN JIATONG UNIVERSITY
XJTU is a key university which is directly administered by the Chinese Education Ministry and is one of the oldest current institutions of higher education in China. The predecessor of XJTU was Nanyang College, which was founded in 1896 in Shanghai and renamed Jiaotong University in 1921. In 1956, the main body of Jiaotong University was moved to Xi’an according to the decision issued by the State Council, and was formally named Xi’an Jiaotong University in 1959, which was listed as a national key university. The history of YZU can be traced back to as early as 1902, when Mr. Zhang Jian, a renowned modern entrepreneur and educator, set up the Teachers School of Tongzhou and Tonghai Agricultural School (which became part of Nantong College later). The former Agricultural School of Jiangsu and Teachers College of Yangzhou, 2 components of the YZU merger, were developed out of the agriculture section of Nantong College and of the literature and history section of Teachers College of Tongzhou respectively. The other four all had a history of more than 60 years.
YZU covers an area of about 4,090 mu (or some 273 hectares) with a floor area of 1.49 million square meters. Its eight campuses are located closely in the downtown area of Yangzhou. The University also owns experimental factories, farms, an animal hospital, an affiliated high school and affiliated clinical hospitals with a full range of modern facilities to meet the needs of teaching, research and student internships. YZU attaches great importance to international exchange and cooperation. It has set up close links and academic relations with a number of institutions of research and higher education in over 30 countries and regions. The China Medical University (CMU) was the first medical school established by the Chinese Communist Party. Its precursor was the Chinese Workers’-Peasants’ Red Army Military Medical School and Chinese Workers’-Peasants’ Red Army Health School which had been founded in Ruijin city, Jiangxiprovince, in 1931. After the Long March with the Red Army, it was relocated to Shanbei.
In 1940 comrade Mao Zedong proposed, and the central committee of the Chinese Communist Party approved, the name of the school being changed to China Medical University. In 1911/1912 this became a formal medical college, the Mukden Medical College.
